The Race is On: An Early Look at the 2024 Alumni Challenge
For its ongoing Alumni Challenge, the LSMSA Foundation shares info on philanthropic gifts that it has received, collectively, from each graduating class.
The Foundation reports the amount gifted in support of LSMSA, collectively, by each graduating class, as well as the percentage of each class that has donated in the past year. In late April, the LSMSA Foundation ran the year-to-date numbers, providing an early look at what the Alumni Challenge results may look like for 2024.
The following report references data that was accurate as of April 26, 2024. A chart containing that data may be viewed here.
Year-to-date philanthropic gifts from all LSMSA alumni, totaling $316,535, include gifts from all but two of LSMSA’s graduating classes (the classes of 2023 and 2014 have not made gifts). The Class of 1989 has collectively donated more than any other class ($55,127), while the Class of 1994 has seen more year-over-year growth in the number of donors than any other class (nearly 20% more people from the Class of 1994 have donated this year than did so in the previous year). A larger percentage of the Class of 1994 (27%) has donated to the LSMSA Foundation this year than any other class.
There's still plenty of time to make a tax-deductible donation to the LSMSA Foundation before the books close on 2024. The LSMSA Foundation is preparing to launch a final push for gifts before the fiscal year ends on June 30. Alumni should watch their inboxes for more information, which will include details of new, LSMSA-branded thank-you gifts.
“As we're preparing to launch the final phase of this year's Alumni Challenge, we thought that it couldn't hurt to stoke some friendly competition among the graduating classes," said LSMSA Foundation Executive Director Michele Robinson. "In actuality, our students and faculty are the real winners of this race."
The LSMSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to develop and manage resources that enhance the work of LSMSA. Donations to the LSMSA Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Make a gift here.
