Goals
Intensify academic excellence at LSMSA by supporting educational and intellectual endeavors that go above and beyond a typical classroom experience
Support faculty and staff in their professional development and personal research so that LSMSA teachers can continue to be scholars and artists in their own right
Improve and expand LSMSA residential and instructional buildings so that the LSMSA community inhabits a living/learning environment that is both safe and stimulating

Ben Marcel, President
Ben Marcel ('00) is the CEO of Torapath Technologies in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Heath DeJean ('03) practices corporate and securities law in a large firm setting in Houston, where he counsels companies on SEC compliance and Exchange Act reporting and assists clients with M&A, financing and other transactions.
Sam Jensen Augustine ('94) is a Director of Design and Construction at the University of Utah where he works on Infrastructure, Capital Improvement, and Sustainability focused construction projects.
Jonathan (’90) has 20+ years of experience in global equities, fixed income, credit, and alternative investments for the management of balanced, multi-asset portfolios.
Sarah (’00) is a Tulane University Law School graduate with 15+ years of experience as an attorney. She has served as a congressional staffer, Assistant District Attorney for Orleans Parish, and an attorney for Kilburn Law Firm and later Hess Corporation.
Christopher (’94) has nearly 25 years of experience as a software engineer, dedicating his professional career to building large-scale distributed systems and mentoring others. He is currently working as the Software Infrastructure Lead for a company still in stealth mode.
Jay L. Johnson ('94) joined Lamar Advertising Company as executive vice president and chief financial officer in October 2019 where he is responsible for all financial aspects of the company.
Kate Lowry ('06) is the Strategy Director for the Science Philanthropy Alliance, a nonprofit that advances scientific discovery through visionary philanthropy.
Holly (’03) has 14+ years of experience in the legal field, serving as counsel for Hudson Advisors L.P., Southwest Airlines, and currently Winstead PC. She has experience in legal aspects of real estate development and disposition, as well as corporate transactions, governance and ethics.
Lenny Richoux (’85) joined Modern Technology Solutions, Inc in 2023. He brings MTSI’s engineering solutions to difficult national security problems with a focus on hypersonic aerospace, data architecture, and flight test.
Clayton Trosclair ('96) is Physician Relations Manager at Palomar Health, a hospital system in San Diego County, California. He previously led fundraising and development efforts for The Grauer School, a private 7-12th grade school.
Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
