Athletics


LSMSA's athletics program is designed to encourage students to develop and maintain habits that will promote healthy lifestyles through lifetime sports.

Superior skill levels and previous experience are not required for participation in LSMSA's activities; there is a place both for the beginner and for the advanced competitor. From interscholastic athletics to informal recreation, the athletics and recreation office offers something for all skill levels.

Students can compete in a variety of varsity athletics at LSMSA.  In a typical year, LSMSA participates in interscholastic events in Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball, and Co-Ed Volleyball.

Additionally, we have special agreements with two local high schools, Natchitoches Central High School (5A) and St. Mary’s School (1A), that will allow our students to participate in more competitive athletics programs and engage in sports not offered at LSMSA.

    4 vs. 4 Volleyball Tournament

    The LSMSA community is invited to take part in a 4 vs. 4 volleyball tournament. The event will begin at 6 PM in the gym. Anyone who would like to join in the fun is encouraged to contact Coach Dale Clingerman at dclingerman@LSMSA.edu.

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
