Health Services
The health services office provides preventative and maintenance health care services, as well as health and wellness education to the LSMSA community.
Health Services Hours and Contact Information
The Health Services Office is located in the Living Learning Commons (LLC) and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday‐Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, and 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday. Whenever students are on campus, the School Nurse is on‐call and may be reached by the Residential Life staff as needed.

Health and wellness services offered to our students include the following:
- Assessment and treatment for illnesses
- Scheduling local doctors appointments and coordinating transportation
- Consultation regarding prescription and non-prescription medications
- Administration of medications
- Allergy injections (student's parent must provide serum, syringe and doctor's order)
- Breathing treatments (student's parent must provide medication and doctor's order)
- Administration of the flu vaccine
- Education on topics such as smoking, alcohol use, skin cancer, eating disorders, healthy eating and sexually-transmitted diseases
- Referrals to appropriate community practitioners

Additional Services
If necessary, additional services are available through the nearby Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Walk-in Clinic. Whenever more urgent diagnostic or treatment procedures are needed, the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center Hospital offers an emergency room and a staff of consultants trained in most health specialties.

Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts (LSMSA) is the preeminent state-supported residential high school with competitive admissions for Louisiana's high-achieving, highly-motivated sophomores, juniors, and seniors. As a public school, there is no tuition to attend, and assistance from the LSMSA Foundation ensures the program is available to all qualifying students regardless of family financial need.
