Exploration Days are an excellent opportunity to get a first-hand look at what LSMSA is all about. During these Open House events prospective students sit in on classes, while their parents hear from the school's administration. Parents and students tour the campus, hear from current LSMSA students, and have lunch in the dining hall. Exploration Days generally begin around 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 2:00 p.m. LSMSA will provide a letter for students to take to their schools confirming their attendance.

Monday, November 11th, 2024 - Join us for our first Exploration Day of the year and get an early start on your application for Fall 2025!

Friday, December 6th, 2024 - Natchitoches Parish schools are closed for Christmas Festival and local students are invited to spend their day exploring LSMSA! This date is open to all students - not just those from Natchitoches Parish. Families planning to stay the night in advance of Exploration Day are encouraged to book accommodations ASAP. 

Monday, January 20th, 2025 - LSMSA will observe an adjusted class schedule to allow students to participate in MLK Day observances. Class meeting times will be shorter than normal, but prospective students will still experience all components of an Exploration Day. 

Who Should Attend: We encourage students who are currently in the eighth grade or higher to attend an Exploration Day. Students who are younger than eighth grade who are traveling with their older sibling may attend; however, they should accompany their parents to all parent activities.

Each fall, representatives from LSMSA travel throughout the state to visit with interested students and their families, answer their questions, and present what LSMSA has to offer. When available, parents of currently enrolled students and alumni living in the area are available to answer your questions from their first-hand experiences.

Private/Semi-Private Weekday Tours allow families to visit our campus and meet with Enrollment Services Staff. Private tours are scheduled primarily for Mondays or Fridays and take about 2 hours. Upon request, we can also arrange for the prospective student to sit in on one or more classes while on campus for a tour. 

If possible, we recommend families attend an Exploration Day rather than scheduling a private tour, as more events are planned for those days. We do understand that not everyone's schedule will allow for them to attend those events and offer private tours as an alternative for those individuals.
