Meet Michele Robinson, LSMSA Foundation Executive Director

Michele Robinson joins us as the new Executive Director for the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts Foundation.
Michele thrives on helping others achieve their goals. She believes in the power of education to transform lives and is dedicated to empowering individuals to reach their full potential. “My commitment to ensuring that children and families have access to educational experiences that can change their own lives and the lives of future generations aligns with the goals of the LSMSA Foundation. I am honored to become part of the LSMSA community and hope to contribute my experience, skills, and passion to the great work that has been underway for forty years.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in education with a minor in psychology, Michele began her career in secondary education. She later received a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy and shifted her professional focus to the nonprofit sector working in the human and community services area where education was always an element. Through her nonprofit work, she began fundraising – an essential element of mission driven work – which brought her full circle to serve her college alma mater, Louisiana Tech University.

Her roles at Louisiana Tech included Executive Director for the President’s Leadership Initiative, Executive Director of Alumni Engagement and External Relations, and Director of Major Gifts. Prior to her work at Louisiana Tech, Michele served as President/CEO of the Louisiana Association of United Ways. Over the course of her career, she has gained skills in strategic planning, fundraising, coaching, and organizational development, and has provided consultation to business, non-profit, and academic professionals as well as to boards of directors and organizations.

Michele has served on several Boards of Directors including Volunteer!United, Capital Area Alliance for the Homeless, Kappa Delta Chapter Advisory Board, and the Louisiana Tech University Alumni Association and is a graduate of the 2012 Leadership Louisiana Class, a program of the Council for a Better Louisiana, and the 2020 University of Louisiana System Management and Leadership Institute.

She currently lives in Monroe with her husband David. They have a grown daughter Kaitlin Robinson Wright who lives in Jackson, Mississippi with her husband Judson. Michele loves time with family and friends, good music, cooking, and playing a little pickleball.

Michele sees commitment and passion in this vibrant community of learners and educators and hopes to help build a culture of philanthropy that lays the foundation for a bright future for the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts.
