LSMSA Students Take Top Honors at 2024 FBLA State Leadership Conference



The LSMSA Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) participated in the FBLA State Leadership Conference, March 18-20, at the Cajundome in Lafayette, LA.

Nineteen LSMSA students made the trip and competed in 27 events, with four LSMSA students taking top honors and earning an invitation to the 2024 FBLA Middle School & High School National Leadership Conference.

FBLA’s National Leadership Conference will take place, June 29-July 2, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. LSMSA students who advanced to the 2024 FBLA Middle School & High School National Leadership Conference include: Alivelu Morampudi ('25), First Place in Business Management; Isabelle Gillett ('26), First Place in Introduction to Business Procedures; Bella Huddleston ('25), Second Place in Advertising; and Anika Chegireddy ('25), Fourth Place in Introduction to Business Concepts. LSMSA students earned an additional 13 honorable mention awards.

Students who were awarded honorable mentions include: Lily Buckles, Marlie Harris, and Audie Hauptman (Business Management); Esha Patel (Advertising); Audie Hauptman (Supply Chain Management); Anderson Kelly (Insurance and Risk Management); Anderson Kelly (Agribusiness); Ava Toms (Public Policy and Advocacy); Kyler Toms (Organizational Leadership); Anika Chegireddy (Intro to Business Concepts); Isabelle Gillett (Intro to Business Concepts); Esha Patel, Jai Patel, and Summerlyn Schwartz (Hospitality and Event Management); Lily Buckles (Business Calculations); Evan Dong (Financial Math); and Ava Toms (Business Communications).

The LSMSA Chapter of FBLA is advised by Sheila Kidd, Human Resources Officer at LSMSA. The Lafayette trip was also supported by Dr. Olaseni Fadipe, who served as a chaperone, and former LSMSA staffer Jackie Jacoby, who volunteered to drive the group to Lafayette. Kyler Toms (’25) is the current president of the LSMSA Chapter of FBLA. The group’s trip to Lafayette was supported in part by funds from the LSMSA Foundation, which helped offset costs associated with travel, conference registration, and lodging.

LSMSA is a tuition-free, public high school for high-achieving rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a nominal room and board fee to cover housing, meals, and campus activities. The LSMSA Foundation offers assistance for families in need to ensure that no eligible student is denied the school’s 40-year legacy of a premium college-level living/learning experience.
